Abstract: With application of Vetiveriazizanioides contour living hedgerow slope protection technique in Pingxiang-lianhua 319 highway rebuilding project in reverse season during Oct to Nov.2003, the Vetiveria zizanioides survival rate reached 90%in the rocky gravel area and 94% in coal-soil accumulation area. The result showed that it was successful to protect road side slope. Another hand, it showed that Vetiveria zizanioides contour living hedgerow technique could play an important role in the eco-restoration and recovering projects in some poor site all the season of a year. It provided a new construction method for wide application and popularization of Vetiveria zizanioides contour living hedgerow technique.
