Preliminary Studies on the Evaluation of Sustainable Developmentof Mountainous Township-- Taking Miaofengshan Township, Mentougou District in Beijing as Example

The evaluating index system of sustainable development for township is established. According to the data of 1999 - 2000, the degree of sustainable development is estimated and analysed for Miaofengshan township in Beijing. It is seen that the main factors, which effect the sustainable development, are ratio of irrigated farmland, population density, forest land area per person, farm land area per person, forest cover degree, etc.
