Quantitative Analysis of Soil Erosion on Hillslopes by Alternant DEM

    • Calculoution of soil erosion amount is limited by experimental data of long term and larg area, i.e., it is needed to collect lots of data. Using alternant DEM, the study raised a new method based on the relation of sedimentation and precipitation to acquire the amount of soil erosion on hillslopes. The control surveying is achieved by GPS, and the large-scale Digital Terrain Map is achieved by Total Station. The experiment indicates that this method not only represents the three-dimention research results but also manage the spacial data by GIS, and the amount of soil erosion in special geographical cell can be calculated and forecasted.
