Discussion on highway runoff pollution treated with artificial wetland

For the main pollutants in road runoff and their sources，a view was put forward to solve the water pollution of highway by using artificial wetlands．In this paper the mechanism of degradation of pol-lutants in highway runoff is introduced in detail. In addition，based on domestic examples the effect of ar-tificial wetland processing surface runoff pollution was illustrated．It was also pointed out that the artificial wetland is worthful to be applied and extended，since artificial wetlands can not only beautify the environ-ment but also realize the harmonious coexistence of human being and nature．
